Elena Yoncheva is also nominated for MEP from DPS – Haskovo. Her candidacy was nominated by the Regional Council of the DPS after the completion of the extended meetings of the municipal councils in all municipalities in the Haskovo region, the regional structure of the Movement announced on its official Facebook page.

Yoncheva’s first nomination from this party was from the structure in Blagoevgrad. The comment of Yoncheva herself, who is now an MEP elected by the BSP, is that the DPS has the will for changes, and she works with their MEPs and they think together in the same direction.

The members of the Movement have proposed for MEPs, in addition to Yoncheva, Delyan Peevski, Jevdet Chakarov, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Iskra Mihailova, Tanzer Yuseinov, Stanislav Anastasov and Taner Kabilov.

Elena Yoncheva was elected as a deputy in the 44th National Assembly in 2017 from Haskovo. Then she left the parliament after her election as an MEP. A claim was filed against Yoncheva by Delyan Dobrev from GERB because of her words that his relatives and friends were appointed to the Haskovo municipality, but Dobrev’s claim was rejected by the Sofia City Court in 2022.

Delyan Peevski is the favorite of the Haskovo organization for the leader of the list in the elections for the National Assembly. It was erected unanimously by all municipal structures. Among the nominees for future MPs are also Jevdet Chakarov and young local cadres.
