The Mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, the Deputy Mayor for Education, Pavel Popov, and the Head of the Regional Department of Education, Irena Radeva, participated in the opening of the National Competition for Professions in the Tourism Sector.
Tourism is the field that best describes Bulgaria and you will be wonderful representatives of your country, Pavel Popov addressed the competitors. He congratulated not only the winners but also those who remain outside the top spots. You have chosen a wonderful field of development and regardless of the ranking in the competition, you will be a good professional. As such, you will not only receive a good salary, but you will be the face of our country, added Popov.
185 students from 48 vocational high schools in the country take part in the competition, which takes place at Golden Sands Sports Complex. A jury of the best professionals will evaluate their knowledge and skills in the categories “Best Young Hotelier”, “Best Young Entertainer”, “Best Young Chef”, “Best Young Waiter”, “Best -good young bartender” and “Best young baker-confectioner”.
The purpose of the national competition is to provide an opportunity for the students participating in the tournaments to demonstrate the acquired practical knowledge and competences in various fields in the field of tourism. The large-scale event also aims to establish a direct link between education and employers in Bulgaria.
