Georgi Georgiev, Boris Borisov and Nikola Bozhilov for the juniors and Karolina Kostova for the girls qualified for the singles quarterfinals of the under-14 tournament of the third category of Tennis Europe in Pazardzhik. The competition is held under excellent conditions on the courts of TC “Favourit”.

Ranked No. 1 among juniors, Georgi Georgiev defeated Willum Riedelsholm from Denmark 6:0, 6:1. For a place in the semi-finals, Georgiev will play against another Bulgarian, Nikola Bozhilov. In the second round, Bozilov won 6:2, 6:7(4), 7:6(5) over Ivaylo Penchev (Germany).

Boris Borisov, ranked #4, defeated Maximilian Langut (Germany) 6:4, 6:4.

Two other Bulgarians were eliminated in the second round. Adrian Hristov lost to Kazuki Nakajima (Japan) 2:6, 6:2, 3:6, and Christian Enev lost to Keisuke Kosaka (Japan) 3:6, 1:6.

For girls, Karolina Kostova beat Ana Bashkatova from Ukraine in the second round with 6:2, 2:6, 6:2. The #3 ranked Bulgarian will play in the quarter-finals against the sixth ranked Ruksandra-Maria David from Romania.

Three other Bulgarian women were eliminated in the second round. Lara Borisova lost to Eva Roska from Romania 2:6, 4:6, Rada Koleva lost to Souna Akaba from Japan 6:2, 4:6, 3:6 and Zara Mineva fell to Sofia Valstedt from Denmark 6: 0, 4:6, 3:6.
