The delay remains a problem, as these amounts will be paid after the holidays, but there is apparently no option for earlier payment. This was stated on the air of Dobrudzha radio, Iliya Prodanov – Chairman of the National Association of Grain Producers on the occasion of yesterday’s meeting of the industry with the Prime Minister, at which it became clear that the caretaker government will provide the full amount of “Ukrainian aid” for farmers.

52 thousand farmers will receive funds from the so-called “Ukrainian aid”. The total amount is BGN 300 million, of which less than half is for the grain production sector. The other part is for the sensitive sectors, Prodanov specified. He explained that they got answers to some of the questions they asked. For others, there will be follow-up appointments. There is a need for clarifications on the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability, the strategic plan and the campaign for the payment of subsidies, the branch official explained.

He admitted that he was considering the option of new protests because of the information that the entire amount for the Ukrainian aid will not be paid.
Regarding the new acting Minister of Agriculture, Georgi Takhov, Prodanov said that this is a person who is familiar with the problems of the branch, as he has been at the head of DF “Agriculture” for two years. Now things depend on the will of his side and the cabinet, whether the policies he has will happen or not, Prodanov believes.

If you would have asked me a week ago about the autumns, then I would have said that the situation is deplorable. After the rains in many parts of the country in the last week, the hope of a decent harvest has returned slightly. The potential is certainly reduced, but there are hopes for a normal year, said Iliya Prodanov.
