After the meeting in February in Yambol between the leadership of the municipality of Yambol and the head of defense Admiral Emil Eftimov, on the occasion of the construction of a new military infrastructure in the village of Kabile, a second meeting on the subject was organized today in the National Assembly with the mayor Valentin Revanski at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova and Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov. It was also attended by the chairman of the Defense Commission, as well as leaders of political parties.

The acting Minister of Defense confirmed what Admiral Eftimov said during his visit to Yambol, that the unit will be owned entirely by Bulgaria, but will also be used by Italian military personnel. The existing unit, used by Bulgarian officers and soldiers, will undergo a major overhaul. The two serving ministers undertook to visit Yambol and explain to the city’s residents all the details surrounding this state project. The mayor of Yambol again expressed the concerns of citizens and military personnel and insisted that clear answers to all questions should be given during the visit. “It is extremely important that the people of Yambol be informed and asked when the state has similar intentions,” added Revanski.

In addition, the ministers promised to provide the necessary funds for the completion of the Yambol hospital. “The project for the new hospital complex has been delayed, but it is extremely important for the development of the district,” Valentin Revanski noted during the meeting. Among other commitments that were given to the city are the construction of a section of Ring Road that currently passes through the Kargon district, the provision of funds for important infrastructure projects, as well as the return to Yambol Municipality of the last two state properties in the former infantry barracks.
