Bulgaria U16 with a decisive victory over Armenia in the second match of the UEFA tournament – BG Football – National Team

Bulgaria’s national youth football team (up to 16 years old) recorded a second victory at the UEFA development tournament held in Moldova. Today, the lion cubs, led by Todor Simov, prevailed decisively over Armenia with 3:0. Dimitar Chelebiev, Martin Peychev from the penalty spot and Alexander Georgiev were accurate in the first half.

The excellently played captain of Bulgaria Kaloyan Bozhkov created the first goal situation of the match after making a wonderful cross, but Veselin Bachev missed to open. But it still happened a little later. The Bulgarian team opened the scoring already in the 7th minute when Dimitar Urumov broke through from the left, went inside and literally served the ball at the feet of Dimitar Chelebiev. The Septemvri midfielder (Sf) from the edge of the penalty area with a precise shot did not leave a chance for the Armenian goalkeeper.

The Bulgarians continued to dominate and created more wonderful situations, mostly because of the very strong play in the midfield of Bozhkov and Martin Peychev. Alexander Georgiev, however, was unlucky to sign up shortly after the result was revealed. In the 35th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Bulgaria, which was converted into a goal by Martin Peychev. The reason for the penalty kick was a handball by an Armenian defender who stopped the ball after a kick by Urumov.

A minute before the end of the first half, Aleksandar Georgiev scored the third goal, completing a counterattack from the left. He received a somewhat controversial ball, but managed to dislodge an Armenian defender with his body and on the diagonal made the lead of the Bulgarians classic.

In the second half, both coaches made a lot of changes, but the Bulgarian selection continued to dominate and could have scored more goals. The cleanest of them was Vasil Vassilev, who in the 88th minute failed to score a fourth goal into an empty net, and thus the result was preserved. In the first match, the Bulgarians beat Moldova 2:0, and the third match of the “lions” is on April 28 (Sunday) at 10:00 a.m. against the Republic of North Macedonia.
