The “smell of asphalt” is already felt in the municipality of Kardzhali. Today, the mayor Errol Myumyun launched a major renovation of “Osmi Mart” street in the village of Shiroko Pole. The opening of the construction site was also attended by the deputy mayors of the municipality of Kardzhali Tunjai Shyukryu, Daniel Delchev, Bajryam Bajryam, the chairman of the Municipal Council Eng. Financing is provided under the project “Repair and rehabilitation of a street in the village of Shiroko pole, municipality of Kardjali” of the Stambolovo – Kardjali 54 MIG, Measure 7.2. “Investment in the creation, improvement or expansion of all types of small-scale infrastructure”. The street that will be mainly renovated is the most important in the village, as the kindergarten and the school are located on it. After construction of the street, horizontal and vertical signaling will be laid. A parking lot will be built near the kindergarten, and there is an extension next to the school, also with the possibility of providing parking spaces, explained Eng. Slavi Dimitrov, head. expert in the “ICS” department of the Municipality of Kardzhali. As early as October 29 last year, we announced that it was time for a new beginning. We promised it would smell like asphalt. It was written that we should start from the village of Shiroko Pole, said the mayor of the municipality Errol Mümün. He emphasized that the municipal leadership faces the challenging task of solving the road problem in Kardzhali and in the villages of the municipality in this mandate. “Good things await us from here on out. It is important to be alive and healthy. We continue to solve the problems of the people who have voted for us – this is a good start,” Mümyun pointed out.
He also recalled that procedures for selecting contractors for major repairs of 17 streets in the city of Kardzhali and 5 municipal roads are currently underway. The total cost of the repairs is over BGN 40 million. The funds are secured by signed agreements with the Ministry of Land and Infrastructure. there will be no appeal by companies, which would delay us by almost a year,” explained the mayor of the municipality of Kardzhali. The street, the renovation of which began today, is the main thoroughfare for the residents of the four villages in the Shiroko Pole municipality – the village of Shiroko Pole, the village of Zornitsa, the village of Lisitsike and Sokolsko. In these villages live 2,212 inhabitants of the municipality of Kardzhali, of which 570 are under the age of 29. As a result of the implementation of the project, the condition of the public road infrastructure, providing access to and from the four villages from Shiroko Pole town hall, will be improved. The appearance of the village of Shiroko Pole, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the “Monyak” fortress and the “Studen Kladenets” dam, will also be improved.
