The project “Implementation of measures for sustainable urban mobility in the municipalities of Sliven and Yambol” has been launched

On April 23, the Municipality of Sliven signed a grant agreement under the “Eco-friendly Mobility” procedure of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan. The project proposal is with the candidate Municipality of Sliven and will be implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Yambol and “Passenger Transport” EOOD-Sliven. The main goal is the creation of public transport with less energy consumption, the implementation of effective connectivity between urban and rural areas, the implementation of measures for the development of ecological and safe transport and transport systems.

For the Municipality of Sliven, activities are planned for the delivery of five electric buses, the delivery and installation of one charging station, the introduction of an intelligent ticketing system for the sale and control of tickets and cards, and the implementation of lighting and signaling on ten footpaths.

For the Municipality of Yambol, the following are planned: construction of 10 kilometers of bicycle infrastructure, development of a General Plan for traffic organization and lighting and signaling of ten footpaths.

The total value of the project is BGN 10,087,061.67, of which: BGN 7,590,100.50 is free funding from the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism; BGN 579,255.00 supplementary national funding and BGN 1,917,706.17 own contribution of the final recipients. The deadline for the implementation of all activities is two years.
