A crisis center in Silistra received food funds for social service users

Railway station “Ekaterina Karavelova” – Silistra has completed another project for users of a social service for which it is an external provider

At the end of March 2024, the project for free financing of the Crisis Center – Silistra, which has a capacity of 10 places, managed as an external social service provider by the Women’s Association “Ekaterina Karavelova”, ended. It was financed by the “Social Protection” Fund, under Grant Agreement No. RD04-148/15.12.2023, target program “Purchase of food products for feeding children and persons who use social services”. With the allocated BGN 4,700, food products were provided for consumers for a little more than 3 months.

The financing made it possible to provide rich meals on the holidays of Christmas, New Year, name days and birthdays of users
on the one hand, and on the other hand, it allowed the association to redirect the funds from this pen to improving the social infrastructure in the service, providing the necessary examinations and medicines to the needy users, paying the high bills for consumables during the winter months (water, heating and other arising needs).

The organization expresses its gratitude to the state, and in particular to the “Social Protection” Fund, for the timely support received, which led to an improvement in the quality of the “Shelter Provision” service provided in the CC for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
