25 years since the establishment and functions of the Regional Administration were celebrated in Kyustendil. This, together with 28 other such administrations in the country, was done by the decree of the then president Petar Stoyanov from January 1990.
The solemn meeting of the Regional Administration team, with the participation of former regional and deputy regional governors, mayors of municipalities from the region, chairpersons of municipal councils, heads of regional services and units, began with a prayer, served by the rector of St. Synod of Vratsa metropolitan Grigoriy and priests from the Kyustendil spiritual district.
About 10 were the regional governors in Kyustendil during these 25 years, some of them led the administration for a short time – according to the political changes that occurred during the given period.
In his speech, the current regional governor, who leads the region under the caretaker governments, and during the assembly, Eng. Alexander Pandurski said:
“During these 25 years, we have faced more than one challenge: floods, fires and earthquakes, the Covid pandemic, financial crises and so on. We were in them together with you and your structures. Thanks to your cooperation and professionalism, we managed to overcome. They are the past, but at the same time they are experiences from which we draw in order to work well in the future”.
