Businessmen Iliya Kamberov – Done and Milen Stoyanov, caught a year ago with a large amount of heroin in Plovdiv, have entered into an agreement with the court and got away with relatively light sentences, considering the amount of the seized drug. Kamberov and Stoyanov were detained on June 5, 2023, and Stoyanov was armed and resisted. The two accused have been involved in drug distribution for months, and this information reached police officers from the Criminal Police Department, who went on their trail at the beginning of the year. On June 5, forensic experts received information that Milen Stoyanov would transport a large amount of drugs from Kalofer to Plovdiv. The package was intended specifically for the other accused.
When the accused entered the city, he was stopped for a check by the police. After the car was searched, 1 kilogram of heroin was found, distributed in two packages. The police then went to the place of the arranged meeting between the two men. When they arrived at the office of the “K2” car dealership, where Milen Stoyanov works, forensic experts also found the accused Kamberov. During the search of the car with which he was traveling, the amount of BGN 38,000 and a small amount of drugs were found. After that, the police also searched his apartment, where drugs were again found and his wife, Bahar, was detained as an accomplice in the possession.
During the cases regarding the measures of the two arrested, the supervising prosecutor Dimitar Molev wanted the court to pay attention to the fact that when Milen Stoyanov was stopped for inspection, he did not provide any assistance to the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but resisted. He also had a firearm on him.
The pre-trial proceedings against Kamberov, Stoyanov and 38-year-old Bahar ended with an indictment and charges under Art. 354th of the Criminal Code for possession with the purpose of distribution of high-risk substances.
According to an agreement approved by the District Court – Plovdiv in January 2024, to Milen Stoyanov. a sentence of 1 year and 2 months of imprisonment under the initial general regime and a fine of BGN 9,000 was imposed. Iliya Kamberov was sentenced to 2 years of conditional imprisonment with a probationary period of 4 years and a fine of 6 000 BGN. The punishment of Kamberov’s wife – Bahar is 1 year of conditional imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years. The decision of the court is final.
Done, nicknamed Baron, is from the Kamber family, which has a serious criminal contingent.
