Zahari Karabashliev – guest of “South Spring” and the renewed Kirkovo school

The first event in the renovated house-museum of the Church School in Haskovo was held this evening. The beautiful Renaissance house lives a new life and became the home of the renewed exhibition “The Haskovic Awakeners”, and its official presentation took place within the “South Spring” Literary Days. Haskovo Municipality and Haskovo Regional History Museum gave fans of literature and history an exciting meeting with the writer Zahari Karabashliev and his novel “Rana”.

The Kirk School is a cultural monument of national importance. The house was built in 1882. It was the home of literature and ancient Bulgarian literary traditions. Its owner donates it to the local municipality. Its reconstruction and renovation has now taken place thanks to the REVITA project, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area. The exhibits of the “Haskov revivalists” are located in three rooms with an emphasis on the activity and legacy of famous Haskovo revivalists such as Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov, Nedyalka Simeonova, Prof. Stefan Dimitrov.

Tomorrow, at 11:30 a.m., participants in “South Spring”, residents and guests of Haskovo will witness another opening – the Shishman’s house, renovated and revived for a new life, will be opened according to an old custom with water lighting and traditional rituals. characteristic of Haskovo urban life from the beginning of the last century. For the first time in its cozy rooms, a Literary Craft workshop on the theme “Pen and Stage”, part of the program of the “South Spring” Literary Holidays, will be held.

The official award ceremony of the laureates of the National Debut Literature Competition “South Spring” Haskovo 2024 will be from 18:00, again at the emblematic Kirkovo school.
