--

The start of the Tepe Jamboree is on June 15th at 18:00 and the route covers the 7 Plovdiv tepes.

For the first time, a sports and cultural marathon will be held in our country. The pilot edition of Tepe Jamboree is hosted by Plovdiv. The event is a running competition, the route of which passes through the seven hills of Plovdiv. The start of the Tepe Jamboree is on June 15th at 18:00. The participants will start their tour of the Plovdiv Tepes from Bunardjika. The 11-kilometer route continues through Sahat, Nebet, Jambaz and Taksim Tepe, the Main Street, the Roman Stadium, the Ancient Theater and through the former Markovo Tepe, where today there is a mall of the same name.

Competitors will finish on Mladezhki Hill. The control time for passing the entire route is just under 3 hours. Here comes the innovation in the event – the organizers of Tepe Jamboree have prepared cultural events that accompany the marathon.

“Also at the start of Bunardjika, there will be salsa, and a one-hour dance is planned on the square in front of the Monument to the Liberators. Anyone who wishes can participate,” said one of the organizers of the sports and cultural marathon, Nikola Chongarov from the “Common Future” association.

Various concerts, participation in theater, dances are some of the other surprises accompanying the competition. The climax is on Youth Hill, after the final, where a live band will play.

The event is open to anyone who is fit and ready to run the course in 2 hours and 50 minutes. The organizers make it possible for disadvantaged people to participate. “One of our guiding ideas is to bring the community together. We want everyone to be able to participate in this celebration of the city, but also to show that everyone is capable of achieving all their goals if they want to,” explained fellow organizer Florian Dujar.

Registration is currently underway for the first sports and culture marathon, which ends on May 31, and participants can choose a starter pack with or without a t-shirt. Free start packages will be provided for people with disabilities, and the participation of two blind competitors – Victor and Iglika Asenovi – is currently clear. Also a team with disabled people from the “Come and You” Foundation.

Company teams who want to organize a non-standard and exciting team building for their employees can also sign up to participate.

If you think you can run 11 km across all the hills in less than 3 hours, dancing the ballroom, listening to concerts and participating in theater along the way, sign up!
