Students from the Commercial High School with their first scientific publication

Adults developed a green mobile application and presented it at a national conference on entrepreneurship in Sliven

A green mobile application was presented by seniors from the Commercial High School on the eve of the national scientific conference “Entrepreneurship through the eyes of young people – opportunities and dreams”, held in Sliven. At the event, 29 reports of students from all over the country were presented, approved after a selection of over 150 applications.

National Commercial High School was represented by young entrepreneurs Martina Kostenko and Alexandra Babaikova. The 12th-graders from the “Customs and Tax Administration” major, led by Kalina Bobeva and Gergana Nikolova, presented their business idea for a mobile application – a platform for sharing environmental resources that helps users determine what to do with different types of waste.

It can also be their ecological helper and advisor on ecological practices and products, the girls explain. Its purpose is to help care for the environment and create useful habits in the daily life of people of all ages. The application is available to anyone who is a supporter of an ecological lifestyle. It provides useful information and advice on environmental issues and ways to protect the environment: for separate waste collection, energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint. The platform makes it possible to measure and track indicators such as water consumption and energy consumption, to participate in eco-initiatives and share ideas.

The scientific value of the developments was supported by four mentors – qualified persons – Prof. Dr. Spartak Keremidchiev from BAS, Prof. D.Sc. Eng. Dimitar Siniovski, Associate Professor Dr. Ofelia Kaneva from VSU “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Rumen Stoilov.

The female graduates received the recognition of their mentors, and their report will be published in a scientific journal.

The scientific conference aims to promote youth entrepreneurship by meeting students from different economic fields, giving them the opportunity to share innovative business ideas and be supported by experienced mentors, participate in discussions and work sessions to exchange knowledge.
