With voluntary work and a donation, they repaired the roof of the “Resurrection of Christ” church at the foot of the Albotinsky rock monastery. The idea came from the town hall of the Vidin village of Gradets, from where they contracted a local construction crew to carry out the necessary construction activities free of charge. Financial support for the materials is provided by the Vidin Metropolis, the mayor of Gradec explained to Radio VIDIN Ilya Tomov:
“I can only say that the roof was in need of repair. The tiles themselves were from those old ones. It just needed to be repaired. More than a year ago, I suggested to His Eminence Metropolitan Daniil of Vidin that we repair the roof. He also saw it and he agreed. He told me that the diocese would provide the funds and I would find craftsmen with whom to carry out the repairs. Before we did the repairs, I talked to His Eminence about my intention, that I had found people who to do the repair free of charge. He agreed and funds were allocated, which are about 1,000 leva… There are two boys who are from Gradets and their names are Denislav and Tsvetomir their foreman, Anatoli Zahariev, whom I also met. He immediately agreed and told me that they would do the roof willingly and from the heart… The roofers involved are Hristo Nedyalkov, the brothers Denislav and Tsvetomir Tsvetanovi, Daniel Krumov and Krasimir Angelov…”
The doors of the chapel are always open and every believer can pray and light a candle. Kthe Met commented that with the restoration of the roof, the temple will be able to continue preserving the faith for future generations. Ilia Tomov added that there is an idea to restore the nearby Albotinsky rock monastery.
