Over 1,200 students from all over Bulgaria participate in the XXV National Holiday “For Our Bread…”
Before the official opening, His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, together with priests from the Church “Introduction to the Virgin” in Blagoevgrad, blessed the bread. “Through this holiday, respect, reverence, gratitude for every gift of God is cultivated,” said the Metropolitan of Nevrokop and wished success to all participants.
The celebration was opened by Bohdana Kostadinova, director of TLTRDB in the presence of many students, teachers and guests. Boryana Shalyavska, Deputy Mayor “Education and Business Development” in Blagoevgrad Municipality greeted the attendees on behalf of Mayor Metodi Baikushev. “The holiday dedicated to Earth Day is one of the most long-awaited events that gathers children from all over the country and directs their eyes to the symbol of life – bread. The holiday creates a sense of connectedness to the past, present and future. For 25 years, the National School Day has become a kind of emblem of the creative spirit and traditions,” said Boryana Shalyavska.
And this year, the participants of the celebration compete in different categories – essay, short story, poem, drawing, applied art, dramatization. The exhibition of bakery products and works “Mockups” is of interest. The start of the competition was given by six teams from all over the country, who competed in the “Scientific Developments” category. What is new is the length of the holiday, which this year will last three days, until April 27. For the first time, a bazaar of social enterprises from the Southwest region will take place. Tonight a disco will be organized for all participants. The celebration will end with awarding the winners.
