A public council will give ideas on problems of economic and investment policy in Pleven Directions Pleven

--

A Public Council on economic and investment policy issues is to be established at the Municipal Council in Pleven. This was announced at a press conference in the National Press Club of BTA in Pleven by the chairman of the ObS, Prof. Dr. Ivan Malkodanski.

According to him, through this council, citizens will be given the opportunity to direct participation in the management of Pleven and their commitment to the problems of the municipality. The public council will include five municipal councilors, which have already been determined by the decision of the Municipal Council from yesterday. It will have to be filled in with representatives from non-governmental organizations and businesses. For this purpose, by May 30, invitations will be sent to organizations from the non-governmental sector and businesses to participate in a meeting at which the governing board and regulated rules for the work of the Public Council will be elected.

Prof. Malkodanski emphasized that the new structure will have advisory functions, it will be expected to give suggestions, to attract experts. Participation in this council will be completely free of charge, the goal is “to help the Municipality of Pleven, not to weigh on its budget”.

I hope that in this way the citizens will be more involved in the problems of Pleven, that we will give them a platform for their ideas and that we will choose the best ones for the development of the municipality, added Associate Professor Malkodanski.

He also said that if this council works well, it is possible to think about the creation of such structures on other topics of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prof. Malkodanski also announced that the rules for the work of the Municipal Fund “Culture” have already been adopted. From now on, we have to apply with our projects to the National Culture Fund, he added.
