On the eve of the International Day of Dance, “Artefir” introduces listeners with an exciting news from the star map of world ballet.

The prima ballerina Anelia Dimitrova and the soloist Ivaylo Yanev of the Ballet of the State Opera – Stara Zagora participate in the 12th Dance Festival “Excelsior” in Siena, under the artistic direction of maestro Marco Bati. Dimitrova and Yanev will dance in the ballet gala that will take place tonight (April 26) on the stage of the Teatro dei Rinnovati.

The Bulgarian ballet artists will perform the pas de deux of Diana and Actaeon from the ballet “Esmeralda” by Cesare Puni, choreographed by Marius Petipa, as well as the duet “Broken Embraces” from “The Pedestal of the Maidens” choreographed by Claude Brumachon.

The prima ballerina Silvia Tomova, director of the Ballet of the Stara Zagora Opera, shares in “Artefir” about the artistic exchange between the opera in Siena and the State Opera-Stara Zagora. According to Tomova, every such manifestation of Bulgarian artists is a sign that we are in the world niche of ballet.

Tomova tells about the performance “Swan Lake”, with which on April 23 the Staro Zagora Opera celebrated the upcoming World Dance Day. The prima ballerina Anelia Dimitrova took on the roles of Odette/Odilia, and the soloist of the Vienna State Opera, Denis Cherevichko, performed the role of Prince Siegfried. Before the show, the world-famous ballet dancer took the time to hold master classes for the opera artists, adds Tomova.

According to the prima ballerina, a ballet troupe must be managed smoothly and pretentiously – with a good planning and personnel policy. “I think we can do that, and this motivates the artists a lot to be better and better,” Tomova points out.
