Petya Hristova put on a solo exhibition “Icons and Glass” in Yambol (+video and photos)

A solo exhibition of the Elhovo artist Petya Hristova was opened yesterday in the “LP ART” Gallery in the city of Yambol. The thematic exhibition “Icons and glass”, which includes 33 works, is dedicated to the upcoming Easter holidays, includes glass icons, as well as posters from all the stained glass windows installed in the Cathedral “Holy Virgin Help of Christians” – Prizren, Kosovo in 2018, the author of which is Petya Hristova.

“Petya is an extremely meticulous and responsible artist. With her, something that something doesn’t happen the way she wants it to. The works are at an exceptional level. She is an extremely mature person in spiritual terms, and the non-ionic attitude to the icon, to the world, to the things that touch her is expressed in a magnificent way” shared Liliya Parusheva – curator and owner of the gallery.

The event was attended by eminent artists, friends and art lovers from the Yambol region.

Petya Hristova has been involved in art for 17 years, passing through graphics, sculpture, painting, drawing on silk and collage. Ten years ago, he started working with high-temperature processing of art glass (fusing) and stained glass. At the beginning of 2018, he won a competition for making the stained-glass windows, rosettes and lunettes in the Cathedral “Holy Virgin Help” – Prizren, Kosovo.

The exhibition presented, through posters, all the works of art that decorate the cathedral in the city of Prizen. She spent almost two years on this project, finishing her work in March 2020. She is the winner of two prestigious awards: Award for contribution to the Art Festival “Teranda” and Award from the Ministry of Culture for her work and the Global Art Contest Exhibition. He has participated in general and solo exhibitions in Germany, Italy, England, Turkey, Kosovo, Argentina, Albania, Cyprus, India and Bulgaria. Her works are owned by galleries and private collections in the country and abroad.
