“Easter – symbols and signs. Ritual bread and painted eggs workshop” – this is the name of the event dedicated to the bright spring holiday, organized by the “Bulgarian Sparks 2016” and the Dobrich Regional History Museum. It will be opened on April 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the yard of the Ethnographic House.
The initiative will involve students from the Vocational High School for Agrarian Economy and “St. Cl. Ohridski”.
The masters of folk arts and crafts Veselina Kuleva from Dobrich, Dorothea Atanasova from the village of Durankulak and Kalina Dimitrova will take a special part in the cultural event. They will introduce participants and guests to the wealth of Easter rituals and symbols, show traditional old and interesting newer egg writing techniques and introduce everyone to the art of making different images from dough to decorate the holiday breads.
The wish of the organizers is that, with the help of the craftswomen, each participant will create a unique and beautiful ritual object to take home as an Easter decoration or to give to loved ones with a wish for health and luck. And the performances of the talented musicians and dancers from the “Sborenka” ensemble at the “St. Cl. Ohridski” led by Gergana Dimitrova will touch the heart of every connoisseur of Bulgarian folklore and fill it with a sunny mood and creative inspiration.
Young and old can touch the richness and variety of a thousand-year-old tradition, feel the emotion of preparing for the upcoming holiday and leave with a beauty created by your own hands.
