The district prosecutor’s office detained for 72 hours the 38-year-old K.D., who committed a daring robbery in Dobrich, using force. The prosecutor overseeing the case submitted to the court a request to determine the most severe measure of remand – custody, the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office reports.

In the early hours of April 22, the man, who had financial problems, went to the home of an elderly man who he knew had money. He disguised himself and entered the apartment undisturbed, thinking it was empty. To his surprise, he met the 74-year-old owner of the apartment there. He chased the assailant with a bat. However, the much younger criminal managed to wrest it from his hands and hit him on the head with it. Then he quickly searched one of the rooms, where he found a bag and a purse, took them and ran away. They contained BGN 850. He deposited them into his account and lost the stolen money in an online casino.

As soon as the audacious robbery was reported, an immediate investigation was launched. K.D. was arrested and charged.

His victim was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening concussion.

Work on the case continues under the guidance and supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Dobrich. The decision of the court is expected to become clear today.
