Levski is the new volleyball champion of Bulgaria after a convincing victory over CSKA

Levski is the volleyball champion of Bulgaria after a victory against CSKA with a 3:1 game (23:25, 25:19, 25:20, 25:21). Thus, the “Blues” won the final series with 3:0 victories. The first two matches ended 3:2 and 3:1 for Nikolay Zhelyazkov’s team.

Zhelyazkov’s alumni won their first title in 15 years, a huge success for the club.

The meeting in the “Levski Sofia” hall was held in front of full stands. The match started stronger for the “reds”, who led with 5:1 points. After that, the “blues” managed to equalize for 10:10. But Alexander Popov’s team again played at a slightly higher level and closed the first game with 25:23.

Already at the beginning of the second game, Levski took the lead, and during the entire part, the “blues” maintained the difference and therefore managed to win a much easier game.

The third part turned out to be decisive for the outcome of the match. The game started evenly, with neither team able to break away. A strong streak of service by Vladimir Garkov at the end of the game proved to be the key to the victory with 25:20.

In the fourth game, Levski led with 3:0 points. CSKA came within one of their opponents at times, but never took the lead and Levski triumphed for the first time since 2009.
