The students from the Burgas troupe won the first place in the National Festival for School Theater in Samokov, Samokov citizens ranked third

The students from the German Language High School “Goethe” from Burgas won the first place at the National School Theater Festival in German “The Curtain Raises for the German Language”, which took place in Samokov. The Burgas troupe also received the “Audience Award”. The second place went to the troupe from the 91st German Language High School “Konstantin Galabov” – Sofia. The hosts from Samokov from Konstantin Fotinov Profiled High School ranked third with their author’s play “Are You Here”.
Participants in the festival received cups and certificates.
“It was a great honor for us to be the hosts and a big task, because there are many things to organize,” Kalina Mitreva, the German language teacher at the Profiled High School “Konstantin Fotinov”, told journalists. She pointed out that they found a lot of support from the school management for holding the festival.
According to her, they were satisfied with the overall event and the performance of the Samokov troupe.
The director of the school, Veneta Simitchiyska, added that the festival was at an extremely high level.
As BTA wrote, troupes from the cities of Samokov, Sofia, Lovech, Varna, Burgas, Gabrovo and Smolyan took part in the festival. It was held over two days.
The students presented their plays in German. They were evaluated by the jury – Axel Bayer from the Goethe Institute – Bulgaria, Deborah Laval and Rosalin Schmijh from the German Embassy in Sofia, Ekaterina Altonkova from the Ministry of Science Education. The motto of the festival this year is “Exposed: What does the Internet know about me?”.
Organizers of the event are the Ministry of Education and Science, German Embassy – Sofia, Goethe Institute – Bulgaria and the Central Service for Schools Abroad, and the host of the festival is “Konstantin Fotinov” Profiled High School, which this year celebrates 130 years since its establishment.
