Bulgaria has the ambition for a much more active bilateral dialogue with the United Arab Emirates, which would lead to concrete results in energy, high technologies, innovations, transport and other areas of mutual interest. This was stated by President Rumen Radev, who arrived in Abu Dhabi for his official visit to the United Arab Emirates on September 1 and 2.
The head of state was welcomed by a line of honor and held a working meeting with Ahmed Ali Al Saye – Minister of State coordinating bilateral relations with the Republic of Bulgaria. The visit of the Bulgarian President is at the invitation of the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi H.V. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who will welcome the head of state Rumen Radev tomorrow with an official ceremony at the presidential palace in Abu Dhabi. The two will have a “four eyes” meeting, after which plenary talks will be held between the official delegations of Bulgaria and the UAE.

In the presence of the two presidents, a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates will be signed. The purpose of the agreement is to promote the development of cooperation in a wide range of areas, including economy, trade, investment, tourism, education, digital technologies, culture, youth and sports.
In the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, bilateral documents of understanding in the fields of tourism, agriculture, education, culture, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for the exchange of news and cooperation between the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and the Information Agency (WAM) of UAE. The two countries are also working to reach an Agreement for the promotion and mutual protection of investments between the governments of Bulgaria and the UAE.
President Rumen Radev will open a business forum in Abu Dhabi, in which representatives of companies from both countries in the field of high-tech production and innovation, transport, information and communication technologies, energy, defense industry will take part.
