Teams of the municipal enterprise “Chistota” replaced the flags in Plovdiv on the occasion of the city’s holiday – the Day of the Unification of Bulgaria on September 6, the company announced.
Over 400 new flags have been installed on the lighting poles along the entrance-exit arteries and other iconic places in Plovdiv, BTA adds.
200 each are the national tricolors and the flags of Plovdiv. New large tricolors are also flying on the 15-meter pylons at five of the city’s entrances.
The director of Chistota, Dimitar Georgiev, recalled that traditionally flags are renewed twice a year – on the eve of the national holiday, March 3 and for September 6.
All flags are sewn by the Municipal Social Enterprise for People with Disabilities.
Tomorrow, also according to tradition, the Unification monument on the square of the same name will be washed again.
