The District Prosecutor’s Office in Plovdiv is self-referred to publications in the media and ordered an investigation into the demolition of the tobacco warehouse on “Hristo Botev” Blvd.

The inspection is about the legality of the demolition of the building and has been assigned to the “Economic Police”.

On the basis of all, it will be established whether the actions of the administration and the owner are legal or not.

The deadline for completion is one month.

The status of the entire Tyutyunev city in Plovdiv will be changed and the 12 buildings in it will be declared immovable cultural value, threatened the Minister of Culture Prof. Velislav Minekov, after urgently visiting Plovdiv for the second time.

He was there during the day, but the demolition of the building continued into the late hours of the day, Minekov returned to Plovdiv. Minekov was adamant that he would force the investors to restore the Tobacco Warehouse in its former form.

The operation itself was carried out secretly and hastily due to the expectation that the destruction of the building would be prohibited after its status was changed to a cultural monument. It also turned out that no institution was notified or took responsibility, including for stopping the excavators.
