The Chairman of the Municipal Council, Eng. Alexander Durzhikov, and the Mayor, Zdravko Dimitrov, will present the award “Honorary Citizen of the City of Plovdiv” to Evgeniy Todorov and relatives of Neri Terzieva, who was awarded posthumously. The ceremony will take place in the Union Hall of the History Museum on September 6 – Day of the Unification of Bulgaria and a holiday in Plovdiv.

Municipal Council – Plovdiv awarded the two with the highest honorary award of the city of Plovdiv with its decision dated 07.07.2022. Evgeniy Todorov was awarded the title for his significant contribution to objective, honest and critical journalism, as well as his authorship of journalistic books and scripts for films that contributed to the national and international prestige of Plovdiv.

The title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Plovdiv” was posthumously awarded to Neri Terzieva in connection with her significant contribution to modern journalism, exceptional professionalism and support for freedom of speech.

As part of the ceremony, Yevgeny Todorov will be presented with the badge of honor with the coat of arms of the city and with a ribbon symbolizing the flag of the city of Plovdiv and a model certificate placed in a frame. Neri Terzieva’s relatives will accept the award.
