In recent weeks, grain trading on world exchanges has been driven less by the war in Ukraine than by drought, harvest and export rates. After a certain decrease under the pressure of the increased supply (mainly in the Black Sea region), we are now again witnessing the beginning of an upward trend, but in general the interest is sluggish, according to the experts from the Sofia Stock Exchange, who follow the world markets of food and raw materials.
Wheat in the United States this week rose $4 to $332 a ton, while in France it remained unchanged at €330 a ton.
In Ukraine, the price of wheat rose by 10 dollars to 310 dollars per ton, Russian wheat was also quoted at plus 10 dollars at a price of 340 dollars per ton.
American corn rose in price this week by 5 dollars to 317 dollars per ton, in France it was again traded unchanged at 329 euros per ton. In Russia, corn rose $5 to $325 per ton.
The price of barley in France rose by 2 euros to 295 euros per ton, in Russia it is unchanged – at the level of 295 dollars per ton.
Rapeseed, which has been moving in different directions for several weeks on the Euronext exchange, continues to fluctuate, now falling by 18.75 euros to 605 euros per ton. The price of crude sunflower oil on the Rotterdam exchange for delivery in September fell another $70 to $1,400 a tonne, while that of refined sugar rose $11.2 to $559.10 a tonne on the London exchange .
Quotations for wheat on the Sofia Commodity Exchange are unchanged – bread wheat in large quantities is sought at BGN 580-637/ton, there was an offer for BGN 749-750/ton. Fodder wheat in large quantities is being sought at BGN 615/ton. The supply of fodder barley is quoted at BGN 665/ton, while corn is at BGN 650/ton. Requests for the purchase of oilseed sunflower appeared at BGN 1,200/ton. All prices are without VAT, writes BTA.
