The mayor revealed the secret recipe – with chirus and rapani from the Burgas Bay
The mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, showed himself in an unfamiliar light – as a culinary master who prepares the unique Black Sea paella “St. Anastasia”.
The mayor is assisted by Pavlin Dimitrov, the governor of the island, and the delicious feast is prepared meters away from the infamous fig tree, under which the great poet Hristo Fotev wrote some of his most brilliant works.
“This paella is made in September, because the autumn sea is the most beautiful in Burgas, the weather is perfect, the sea is warm,” said the chef at the beginning of the video.
“The key is in the well-prepared products, and the secret ingredient – chiroz and Burgas rapani,” he added.
