This is perhaps the most Bulgarian and important work in our modern history. This is how Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev commented in front of the camera of Plovdiv24.bg in Plovdiv, the 137th anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria.
Regarding the disaster in the Plovdiv region, the minister said:
“If it is established that there is illegal logging, we will take all actions within the powers of the Ministry of the Interior, I guarantee this. Separately, each minister will see in his department what are the possible mechanisms for the people there to be compensated”.
On the refugee crisis and the wave of migrants on our southern border:
“The goal is to prevent entry into our territory. The presence of the army there helps. The wave is unprecedented, it did not happen even in 2014 and 2015. We have taken all measures to preserve our border. We maintain very intensive contacts with the Turkish side.
We have data on cases where border guards have been involved in various schemes. We will also take disciplinary action. There will also be transfers for employees for whom we do not have sufficient evidence but have strong evidence that they are involved in such trafficking. At least ten people are involved”.
