A solemn ceremony to mark the 137th anniversary of the Unification Day was held in Silistra with increased interest from institutions and parties.

Compared to last year, the ceremony saw the leaders and list members of the major parties contesting the October 2 parliamentary elections.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Silistra, Dr. Yulian Naydenov, together with his team, the Regional Governor, Eng. Nikolay Nedelchev, the Deputy Chairman of the Silistra Municipal Council, Ms. Ivanka Tasheva, municipal councilors, representatives of political parties and institutions expressed their appreciation to the saint cause of the Unification by laying wreaths and flowers in front of the monument of Tsar Boris III the Unifier and in front of the memorial plaque dedicated to those who died in the Dobruja epic.
After the ceremony, around the second fountain, a concert was held by the Ensemble “Rhythm” at the People’s Community Center “St. St. Cyril and Methodius – 1966” with chairman Rosen Atanasov. The concert ended with the “National Holiday Chorus for Unity” – an initiative of the Tourism Association.
