Hristo Mutafchiev: The tragedy is great

The tragedy is great, the villages are suffering terribly at the moment. And I think that here the problem should be divided into two aspects. One aspect is what the state will do, and the other – what is the fault of the people in the villages themselves for some of what is happening to them, of course. This comments on the morning block “Good morning, Bulgaria” on Radio “Focus” the actor Hristo Mutafchiev, who is a native of Karlovo.

“It’s not only nature’s fault and the rainfall, in my opinion, that we continue to fill our gullies and riverbeds with the garbage we throw away from home. Washing machines, stoves, junk, car tires, garbage and then we wonder why the water enters our homes Well, that water has to go somewhere, it’s logical.

Otherwise, this is what I can say, the tragedy is great. The loggers, who indiscriminately cut down the forests above the villages in the Balkans of Sredna Gora and in the Balkans, Stara Planina, are also to blame. And all these logs, branches, silt and mud have entered the homes, precisely coming down from the Balkans, because the downpour carried them down. But here is the place of the state, which I really see is starting to get involved with very heavy equipment – something that is terribly necessary,” commented Hristo Mutafchiev.

He described as cynical the planned benefits, which amount to half of the minimum wage. “The state cannot give each house 50,000 BGN to repair their household goods – a fact, but I think that is why the local population and the town halls should make a very serious assessment of the damage to each house individually, calculate what is the value of the losses and to help those who are not insured, and the majority of them, I guess, did not insure their properties because they did not expect such a thing,” Mutafchiev also said.
