The employees of the Plovdiv Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have taken all necessary measures to protect public order and traffic safety in the regional city and the region on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of the Unification of Bulgaria on September 6.

In connection with the holding of the 46th “Union” International Memorial Marathon, it is expected that there will be temporary traffic changes in Plovdiv.

In the time interval from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., a ban is introduced for the passage of all motor vehicles on the following routes:

– run from the town of Saedinenie – entering the town of Plovdiv – “Vasil Aprilov” Blvd. – the Maritsa River bridge – turn left on “Sixth of September” Blvd. and finish at “Saedinenie” Square.

– intermediate run “Saedinenie” with a length of 2 km – start around 10.10 a.m. in front of DKC 2 on “Sixth of September” blvd. along the marathon route to “Saedinenie” square.

– second intermediate run “Saedinenie” – start at 09.30 from the intersection of “Ruski” Blvd. to “Saedinenie” square.

On the same evening, on the occasion of the ceremonial dawn-check at “Saedinenie” Square, from 5:00 p.m. until the end of the event, cars will not be allowed on “Sixth of September” Blvd., in the section between “Tsar Boris III Obedinitel” Blvd. and Blvd. “Russian”.

At the established checkpoints in the area of ​​the square, law enforcement officers will carry out thorough checks on visitors.

Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and those carrying weapons or other dangerous objects, will not be admitted.

The police appeals to motor vehicle drivers to choose detour routes in the indicated intervals and to show the necessary patience for the normal course of sports events and celebrations.
