Bulgaria achieved its first great victory at EuroBasket 2022 against one of the hosts of the championship – Georgia, with 92:80 in Tbilisi Sport Palace. The great leaders of Bulgaria distinguished themselves with a double-double – Alexander Vezenkov and Dee Bost, who exploded with 9 triples. This is the first victory for our national basketball team at a major forum in 11 years.
The first part of the match started evenly as Georgia managed to win with 18:14, the bad thing for the home nationals was that the center Emil Stoilov committed 4 fouls already in this period and Rosen Barchovski had to take him out of the game to save him . By halftime, Bulgaria was back on track, so the two teams retired at halftime with a score of 39:38 in our favor.
