Maya Manolova and a team of volunteers from PP Stand Up Bulgaria are on the ground in the flooded villages with aid and delivery of essential materials
The leader of Stand Up Bulgaria, Maya Manolova, called on the interim government to fully compensate the residents of the flooded villages near Karlovo. A team of volunteers from Stand Up Bulgaria, together with the leader of the party, Maya Manolova, are on the spot for the fourth day at the flood-ravaged homes and agricultural areas in the villages of Bogdan and Karavelovo near Karlovo.
For four days now, Maya Manolova and a team of volunteers from PP Izpravi se Bulgaria have been on the ground in the flooded villages with aid and delivery of essential materials – water and heavy equipment to clear the ruined homes and infrastructure. For four days now, the leader of PP Izpravi se Bulgaria left his role as chairman of the party, which leads an election campaign, and was one of the first to empathize with the pain of dozens of citizens from the villages near Karlovo. Stand Up Bulgaria believes that such gestures will multiply many times over and this will lead to the faster recovery of the regions devastated by the elements.
We remind you that yesterday Manolova was at the site of the destroyed bridge over the Balkanska River, where she called on the Minister of Agriculture Yavor Gechev for a full investigation and the imposition of sanctions on the offenders. Stand Up Bulgaria has a number of reports of indiscriminate logging in the area, which led to the tragic destruction.
In addition, the party appeals to the caretaker government for full compensation to the victims as soon as possible.
“Given that the previous government allowed itself to buy Russian gas 30% more expensive, which cost the Bulgarian taxpayer BGN 110 million. This amount of funds will be sufficient not only for the affected villages, but also for prevention in the neighboring settlements,” said Manolova.
