Bulgaria is one of the few countries that can receive an additional amount of gas from Azerbaijan before winter. As a matter of urgency, a scheme has been developed, which has already been proposed and in principle supported by the Asian country, which envisages the implementation of barter – electricity for blue fuel. This was announced by the Acting Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov on the air of the Bulgarian National Television. This week he visited Azerbaijan, where the scheme was proposed and discussed.
“At the moment, all countries are looking for additional quantities of gas. However, if we manage to implement this scheme, we will be among the few countries that will be able to receive it,” said Stoyanov. He explained that all electricity production in Azerbaijan is gas-fired, and therefore such an opportunity is of interest to them as well. Along with this, one billion cubic meters per year have been confirmed, which will go to our country from the beginning of October. Talks are also underway to request an additional one billion cubic meters of gas per year, after the completion of the extension of the southern corridor. “This will be possible around 2025-2026, but now is the time for our country to negotiate these quantities, otherwise they will be occupied by other countries,” explained the Minister of Economy and emphasized that work is being done on all possibilities for diversification of our country.
Last week, the Ministry of Economy and Industry reported a dubious practice – the majority of the companies in the institution’s system concluded contracts with the same law firm, the total amount of which exceeded BGN 400,000. Information was received that this firm, under the same time, she also concluded a contract with the State Fund “Agriculture”, according to which she absorbed over BGN 200,000. Spasova and we hope for quick results. People have the right to know on what principle exactly these lawyers were chosen and whether one of the partners in this law firm is directly related to the lady in question,” commented Nikola Stoyanov.
