Vodosvet for health was celebrated in the yard of the fire service in Pernik on the occasion of the professional holiday of firefighters – September 14.
The Director of PBZN Commissioner Boris Borisov wished his colleagues good health and fewer accidents and announced the names of those who were honored for the holiday. For the first eight months of the year, firefighters in the region responded to 931 calls. 625 fires were extinguished, 149 of which caused material losses. Six people were killed and six were injured. The employees of the fire services in the region have participated in 24 emergency and rescue operations and in 223 auxiliary operations. There are no minor or major accidents. To us, they are all the same, said the commissioner.
Firefighters laid a wreath in front of the memorial plaque of Nikola Mikov, who died while extinguishing a fire at the former “Pectin” plant, and honored his memory with a minute’s silence and the wail of sirens. A wreath was also placed in front of the monument of Sasho Evtimov in the village of Leva Reka in Trna, who also died in the line of duty.
