In Ruse, the increase in the price of apartments is the most significant among the six largest cities in our country

Burgas is the leader among large cities in terms of price growth of existing homes. This is indicated by the latest data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

The value increased by 17.8% of these dwellings in the seaside town to first quarter 2022 on an annualized basis. The statistics concern the house price index (HPI) and cover the six cities in Bulgaria with a population of over 120,000 people.

In Varna growth in existing homes is 16%, and in Sofia – 14.1%. It is followed by Ruse – 13.7%, Plovdiv – 12.7%, and Stara Zagora – 8.1%.

It is curious that in Burgas, for the same period, the value of new homes has barely budged. The growth in this case is only 0.1%, which is the least among the six largest cities.

The total CPI, i.e. the average growth in housing prices in the city of Burgas is 11.1%.

By this indicator the leader is Ruse with 15.4%. It seems that there, new homes have risen in price by as much as 23.2%. And according to this indicator, the Danube city is in first place.

The average price growth in Varna is 13.2%, and in Sofia – 11.9%. They grew the least in Stara Zagora – 6.3%.

The data refer to newly built and existing homes, purchased by households.
