The Metropolitan Inspectorate once again dealt with unpunished vandalism in Sofia. Yesterday, the cut vinyls with views of Old Sofia, which are at the Serdika amphitheater, were replaced with new ones.
The huge photographs are the target of vandalism and around the Serdika amphitheater they were torn, scratched, broken. Now they have been replaced and it is nice to stop and look at the former Sofia when passing by.
“The collapse remains a major problem of our urban environment. Why they do it – to demolish, I have no explanation… Otherwise, 15 centuries ago, our Amphitheater was equal in size to the Colosseum in Rome. That is why today it has been veiled for 15 years, instead of showing it to the world is another topic. A topic that brings me as much dissatisfaction as vandalism…”, commented Ivo Penev from the Metropolitan Inspectorate.
