Change for Bulgaria’s Davis Cup match – Tennis – Men

A significant change occurred in the program of the match between Bulgaria and the Republic of South Africa from the Davis Cup tournament in Sofia. Matches on the second day of competition – Saturday (September 17) – will start at 11:00, not 13:00 as originally scheduled.

The withdrawal of the kick-off time comes on the recommendation of World Group II match supervisor Yassin Lakhdar of Tunisia. Three matches are to be played on Saturday – one in doubles and two in singles.

The match will open with two singles matches on Friday (September 16). The first of them starts at 13:00.

The draw for the match will be drawn today at 1:00 p.m. on the center court at the Bulgarian National Tennis Center (BNTC) in Borisova Garden in the capital. All matches will be played there, and public entry is free.

Dimitar Kuzmanov (#159 in the world ranking), Alexander Lazarov (#394), Alexander Donski (#578) and Pyotr Nesterov (#870) will compete for Bulgaria. It was the four of them who qualified our team in World Group II, winning decisively with a 3-1 victory in the home playoff against Paraguay in the “Sofia” Hall in March.
