On September 15, 2022, the new academic year 2022-2023 began. In Silistra district, the bell rang in 42 primary and secondary (general and vocational) schools. Separately, the educational process continues in 24 kindergartens. According to the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the estimated number of students is about 9,400 in daily, combined and individual forms of education.

In a dual system, 59 students from 9th to 12th grade are covered in 3 secondary schools – two in Silistra and one in Dulovo. Of all students, at least 800 are first graders and 680 are twelfth graders. And more data: 24.5 are the posts for educational mediators, and in the DG – 8, while 5 are the social workers, financed under a program of the Ministry of Education, temporary employment or with funds from the school budget.

The district governor, Eng. Nikolay Nedelchev, honored the schools and kindergartens in the district with his special congratulatory address, as well as, in a similar way, the MES of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Silistra with its head, Dr. Gabriela Mitkova. On a personal level, the representative of the state authority for the district took part in the opening of the new academic year in the oldest school in the district – “Father Paisiy” Elementary School with principal Galya Ilieva.

The Deputy Regional Governor Dimitar Todorov participated in a similar ritual at “Nikola Vaptsarov” Secondary School – Silistra city. In this way, the Silistra District Administration followed the tradition of being represented by its leaders in the school celebrations on the occasion of the beginning of the school year.

These days, the academic school year is about to start, judging by invitations from Academician Hristo Beloev – rector of the University of Ruse – the celebration at the university level is on September 19 in the city of Ruse. The next day, he was at the Silistra Branch with the director Assoc. Dr. Rumyana Lebedova, which is part of the largest higher education institution in Northern Bulgaria. The branch trains students in two directions – pedagogical and engineering.
