“Wolves” with classic success at “Olimpico”

Ludogorets’ Europa League group stage rivals Roma and Helsinki played their second-round match of the competition, with the Wolves winning 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

As early as the 14th minute, the visitors were down a man after Tanjo’s foul was reviewed by the VAR for a red card and one followed immediately after reviewing the situation.

By the break, Roma were unable to mount much pressure, with only Zaniolo coming close to scoring in the 39th minute, but from an advantageous position, he shot low and into the middle of the goal without troubling Conor Hazard.

At half-time, Jose Mourinho brought on Paulo Dybala and it immediately paid off. Only 120 seconds after the restart, Lorenzo Pellegrini found the Argentinian with a pass, who with a perfect shot from the edge of the penalty area punished the Finns for 1:0.

Just two minutes later, Pellegrini added a goal to his assist after a serious mix-up in the Helsinki box, with the Roma captain getting the best of the situation and taking advantage of the carom.

In the 69th minute, the score swelled to 3:0. Andrea Belotti scored his Wolves debut goal after Niccolò Zaniolo fed him the ball and he just tapped it into the goal.

Thus, Roma won their first points in the competition after losing to Ludogorets 0:2 a week ago. In the standings, Betis leads with 6 points, Razgrad and the “wolves” have 3 each, and Helsinki remains at the bottom without a point won.
