Zdravko Dimitrov showed international observers how to vote with a machine

The progress on the organization of the election process and the events planned by the political parties were discussed today at a meeting between the mayor Zdravko Dimitrov, Nina Suomalainen – head of the election observation mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), representatives of the OSCE in Bulgaria and political analysts.

They were interested in the order in which the parties announced their advertising campaigns and events, and where the places designated by the municipality for this purpose were located. The mayor explained to them that usually the last ten days before the election day the parties become more active in terms of events.

After the meeting, Zdravko Dimitrov showed the observers how voting is done by machine in our country. Chief Secretary Angelina Topchieva and Deputy Mayor Yordan Stavrev added that the responsibility for order during the voting rests with the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which work in continuous communication with municipal structures.

The Municipality of Plovdiv reminds that there are 14 demonstration voting machines on the territory of the city with an installed demo version of an electronic ballot for voting. Seven of them are located in municipal and regional administration buildings. The machines are available to citizens every working day, as well as on Saturday 24.09.2022. from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The regional election commission will place seven more machines in busy places in the city so that voters can familiarize themselves with and test the voting machines by election day./PlovdivPress
