Dozens of Varna residents and guests of the city took part in the European Car Free Day – an initiative of the European Commission, which the Municipality of Varna supports annually.
Organizers of the events are “Talyana” association and Varna spaces (Varna spaces), with the assistance of the “Culture” municipal fund and the “Culture” national fund.
A bazaar, children’s activities, skateboarding lessons, workshops, lectures and discussions, live music, and in the evening, a cinema under the sky, were some of the events that attracted fans of the car-free movement.
The areas in the city center were turned into temporary pedestrian zones – “Ohrid” Street, “Tsaribrod” Street, “Preslav” Street, the section between “Khan Asparuh” Street and “San Stefano” Street; on “Slivnitsa” Blvd., the section between “L. Karavelov” and “Knyaz Boris I” blvd.; blvd. “Knyaz Boris I”, the section between “Slivnitsa” Blvd. and “Bratya Miladinovi” St.
