Local leader
“Renault Nissan Bulgaria” has been present on the Bulgarian market since 2005 and is the largest importer of cars by revenue with almost BGN 300 million in turnover last year. In 2021, the leading two brands in the Bulgarian new car market were Dacia and Renault, which then delivered 4,004 and 3,258 passenger cars respectively, as well as over 1,500 more from Nissan.

It is not yet clear what the management structure of the local business will be under the leadership of Emil Frey, as Renault Nissan Bulgaria currently has 30 employees.
It’s another shakeup in the new car market after Moto-Pfoe was sold to Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation in 2018, and last year Sofia France Auto added Citroen and Opel to its portfolio.
