In 2021, Anthony Hopkins received his second Oscar for Best Actor. The film was The Father, and his new gold statuette came almost 30 years after his previous one for The Silence of the Lambs.

Now the 85-year-old actor takes on another giant role – that of Sigmund Freud. Hopkins will be the father of psychoanalysis in Freud’s Last Session, the new film by director Matt Brown. Contrary to popular expectation, we will not see analyzes of human sexuality.
At the center of the story is the intellectual confrontation between Freud and the author of The Chronicles of Narnia, C.S. Lewis. At the heart of their dispute are their views on religion. Freud was an absolute atheist, while Lewis was a follower of the Church of England, and his works abound in allegories related to Christianity.
The difficult task of getting into the role of C.S. Lewis falls to Matthew Goode, known to us from his participation in “Mansion Downtown” and The Crown. In the role of Anna Freud – Sigmund’s daughter, we will see Liv Lisa Fries, who we saw in “Berlin Babylon”.
The premiere of Freud’s Last Session is scheduled for December 22, Collider writes.
