The new Bridget Jones movie is going to be a total bomb

Actor Hugh Grant, 63, will reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver in the upcoming sequel to the Bridget Jones films and was very impressed when he received the script.

Hugh – who is not involved in the third film, Bridget Jones’s Baby – told Entertainment Tonight: “I’ll tell you what I think: the script for the fourth ‘Bridget’ is the best of all the others. And actually one of the the best scripts I’ve read in a long time.”

The film will show Renee Zellweger’s Bridget adjusting to life as a single mother after the death of her husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), and Hugh was impressed by the depth of emotion he found in the script. “At the heart of it is trying to bring up two kids on your own, and then it’s all mixed up with the comedy of Bridget Jones, so it’s very sad, but also very funny. I literally cried for her.”

The British actor, who recently settled with the tabloid “The Sun” in a long-running lawsuit, did not expect either the emergence of the project or the return of his character, who was presumed dead in a plane crash in the third film, until at the end of the film title did not disclose in the newspaper that he was found alive. “It just suddenly came up, you know Helen (Fieldin) is writing another book. I hope we’re not too old. Now I don’t act much, I only have a few scenes,” added Grant, quoted by BGNES.
