It’s been a while since we last heard Eminem’s lightning-fast rhymes, and that’s about to change because the white rap star is back with a new album.

The news was announced on the NFR Podcast’s Twitter account, accompanied by a short teaser of what’s to come.

The album is called The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) and, as the title suggests, Eminem buries his alter ego Slim Shady.

In the shared video, a crime reporter is seen investigating the death of Eminem’s alter ego. At the same time, the journalist sheds light on the image that crossed the media in the late 90s.

“With his complex, oft-criticized and tongue-in-cheek rhymes, it’s safe to say that the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had a long list of enemies,” the reporter says in the teaser.

The short clip also features 50 Cent, who quips, “He [Slim Shady] not a friend, he’s a psychopath”.

The reporter’s account goes on to suggest that the character’s crude and controversial lyrics may have led to his demise.

And as he collects the clues, the crime journalist urges viewers to follow him in recreating the events that led to Slim Shady’s end.

For a few seconds we also see the star of the show – Eminem, who says that what happened to the character does not surprise him at all.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) comes 4 years after the release of the rap star’s last album Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted in January 2020.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

In 2022, the rapper brought his fans to their feet by making a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige.

The performance was the first public appearance of Eminem, who has gone undercover since the pandemic, but apparently now he has gathered enough inspiration to come out of the shadows and drop a new musical bomb as only he can.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) is due out this summer.
