The attempt took place this morning in the house where 55-year-old Kamenov and his family lived. Information at this stage remains scarce. Cape Town Police Colonel Andre Trout told NOVA that all those killed were over 40 years old.

“Forensics are still searching the scene of the accident in Constantia, where the bodies of four people were found on Thursday morning. Around 08:20, the bodies of two women and two men aged between 40 and 50 were found with gunshot wounds. It is believed that the victims are of Bulgarian origin,” Traut explained.

According to NOVA, in addition to Kamenov, the attackers shot the woman with whom he lived, the housekeeper and a security guard. The children were at school at the time, the director of the Bulgarian school there confirmed to NOVA.

“Yes, the family’s three children have been studying in the Bulgarian school for many years. They are excellent students, they show very good results in the educational process. They are 13, 11 and 8 years old. We are waiting for information from the police because they have cordoned off the whole area. I know the family”, said Anton Nikolov.

“The motives behind the multiple killings have not yet been established. Detectives are working hard to find clues. The Major Crimes Unit has opened an investigation into the murders,” commented Col. Trout.

Geshev on the information about Kuro’s murder: We are going back to the Mutren years

Kamenov is part of the former group VIS. He has been living in the Republic of South Africa for years. Months ago, he was accused in absentia as a guarantor of the murder of the former police officer Lubomir Ivanov in the capital, at the beginning of last year. In mid-March, he was exposed by the prosecutor’s office as part of a conspiracy to discredit senior police officers and magistrates, including the chief prosecutor. Interpol wanted him on a red notice for murder, threatening to kill and extortion.

“I think I’ve been adamant for two years now. I said that what is happening and is being done with the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office and the Bulgarian judiciary will and has led to a boom in crime and we are returning to the Mutren years”, pointed out accuser number 1.

MFA: We have been informed about the murder of 4 people in Cape Town, who are supposed to be Bulgarians

The 55-year-old Kamenov is the owner of a vegetable exchange in Sofia, which was the subject of an inspection a few months ago.

The information from our Foreign Ministry is also scarce. They only confirmed the murder of four people, allegedly Bulgarian citizens. Official information is awaited in South Africa.

The Republic of South Africa is one of the countries with which Bulgaria does not have an agreement on bilateral mutual assistance in criminal proceedings. This means that despite the clear location of Kamenov, there was no legal basis for his extradition to our country.
