An American train with shells bound for Ukraine, guarded by NATO troops, was robbed in Poland, the newspaper Wyborcza reports, cited by RIA Novosti.

The suspects were detained and the stolen property was returned, the newspaper said, without specifying when exactly the incident took place.

“Ammunition boxes were stolen from a train guarded by NATO soldiers at the railway station in Wengliniec in Lower Silesia. The shells were most likely headed for Ukraine,” the report said. It is noted that at the station, railway security officials noticed the lack of seals on one of the carriages. As reported by Wyborcza, it was a US Army train and the thieves stole four cases of ammunition.
